The Zaporizhzhia Municipal Chamber Choir (ZMCC) was created on the initiative of the leading choir master, head of Zaporizhia department of the Association “All-Ukrainian Choral Society named after M. Leontovych” Oksana Brattсeva and with the support of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the ZMR.

The choir was created with the aim of developing academic choral culture and popularizing the Ukrainian song tradition in the hometown. Young teachers of art schools of Zaporizhzhia united themselves in the choir. Rehearsals began in March 2021 on the basis of ZDSHM No.1. The first performance took place in June on the stage of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Philharmonic. The first solo concert occured on May 21, 2023.
The young team is a laureate of Ukrainian and international contests – festivals: “Budapest Art Festival 2021”, Hungary; “Blagofest 2021”, Zaporizhzhia; “Art against war” Kyiv (2022); “We are your future, Ukraine (2023), Zaporizhzhia”.
ZMCC is a multi-genre choir with bright creative potential. The repertoire includes authorial and jazz arrangements of Ukrainian folk and modern songs, classical works, popular world music. The motto of the choir is: “We don’t wait for miracles – we surprise by ourselves!”
ZMCC conducts an active creative life, taking part in the flash mobs and patriotic activities, performing at concert platforms of the city, in the studios of local TV channels and on the main stages of the Zaporizhzhia region. With the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukrainian rebel rifle songs were added to the choir’s repertoire. Supporting the resilience and invincibility of Ukrainians, ZMCC gives charity concerts to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and keeping the art front.
